77 Gianky Project – Non Mi Fermerò Mai – Review

77 Gianky Project was born two years ago straight from Giancarlo “Gianky” Capicotto, the guitarist of Meat For Dogs; on the 10th of March the band, in collaboration with Overdrive Records, Duff and Scatti Vorticosi Records, released its first record called “Non Mi Fermerò Mai”, which is the topic of our today’s review, as you could tell.

I have the pleasure to review this record through the physical copy, a really important mean in order to get a complete analysis of the album; for this, I would like to thank Gianky for having understand with serious respect and support the Radio Punk project, offering us some copies for our self-financed distro too.

After this deserved introduction, let’s talk about the album: the seven tracks are strongly homogeneous among them, and since the first listening we can realize that this is a very melodic punk rock record, highly influenced by bands like Husker Du, but also Jawbreaker.

The album starts very well with “Quello Che Non C’è”, an incredibly catchy and strong-impact song that after several listening is confirmed as my favorite. It goes ahead with “Congratulazioni”, which quickly seems to stay in your head; “Provo A Distinguermi” and “Tutto Può Cambiare” are also the other two tracks that top this work thanks to the voice and the Gianky’s splendid vocal lines.
“Semplice Sfortuna” together with “Nessuna Verità” (a cover of Impact’s song) are the only two songs that I find toned-down. Then “Neve” concludes it all with its being calmer and more peaceful than the other tracks, and brings us gently to the end of this good record.

The good thing, that is also the essence of “Non Mi Fermerò Mai”, consists of the ease and having done things as it ought to be. This is a record full of passion, punk rock and the will to keep on dreaming. Higly-recommended record for melodic punk rock lovers.
Honorable mention to Gianky’s jacket, which has been worn for 23 years and is an essential part of the artwork. Congratulations to 77 Gianky Project!
