Review: The Ferrets – Sick Sad World
A sick sad world recounted while skating
Out since July 12th on CD under Lostdog Records, Monster Zero Super Involved and Manifest Records, “Sick Sad World” is the new studio work by The Ferrets, these very young guys from Piacenza, whom the punk rock veterans in the Italian scene have nothing on. They already had the opportunity to make themselves known in Europe, embarking on tour in Spain and England, following the well deserved success sprouted from the album “Another me” in 2017. This last gem will be available in both digital and LP format starting from August 2nd.
The sharp guitars are the main focus in this array of 7 tracks with a pop background, which spans ramones core and skate punk, and in which the 3 singles that are out so far stand out. “Sick Sad World”: song that gives its name to the album and that above all wants to spread an important matter such as equality. “The Party is not Over” and “Tonight”: the latter raises the curtain on this extremely cool and modern execution of a traditional and essential punk rock, which deals with injustice and social discrimination.
