Manovalanza – Last Live At Terrazza Sul Lago – Review

”Last Live at Terrazza sul Lago”, the new record by ska punk band Manovalanza, came out on May 7th; this Tuscan band is active since 2006 and has already put out 4 studio albums, as well as having played more than 200 shows between Italy and Europe, with a memorable Mexican tour in 2015.
It comes out for the Mexican label ”Impacto Records”, just before the announcement of a world tour across Germany, Great Britain, Switzerland, Italy and Mexico again. This live album was recorded during the last show ever at ”La Terrazza sul Lago”, well-known live club in the center of Italy, where the band started its own career 12 years ago.

I have to say that since it was my very first listening of this band, the fact that this record is composed by all their best songs played live gave me the perfect concept of what Manovalanza is, musically speaking; they have great personality and determination, they know exactly what they’re doing and surely they have fun! In fact the 15 tracks, heavily influenced by Persiana Jones and Statuto, make you want to mosh and dance, although sometimes with a melancholy and angry vein.
Among the songs that impressed me the most there is the medley with ”Tutto Contro”, ”Che Gioia il Buio” and ”Skatorbia”.
With that being said, I strongly recommend you to go see this band in the next tour dates, where you can easily dance, sing and drink a few beers with them.
