Proton Packs/The Livermores – Party Time For Astronauts Split – Review

Proton Packs VS Livermores, two young and fresh bands who delighted in releasing this 7’’ split under the leadership of Mom’s Basement Records and Dad I Buy Records. “Party Time For Astronauts” looks like a super yellow disk with a nice artwork, Proton Packs on side A and Livermores on side B. it’s well synthesized, the clear intention of both the bands is to have fun challenging each other on the three chords rhythm. They sincerely succeeded in! Row and colourful Punk’n’roll, the right thing for a fizzy summer to enjoy on a beach chair and maybe with an alcohol overdose.

Structurally organized, the Proton Packs on the sound of “Living in mars”; great presence of power chords making people want to dance and mosh. Same perception of the hilarious, but not too much, “USA vs USB”, Leeches style is unique.

On the other side, the Livermores from the Marche. They released two DIY albums and nothing more, they are a punk rock band on Manges style, it is a sign that confirms that in our country there’s still the chance to listen to good music. It’s not extraordinary, but the important thing is to carry out the original 3 chords idea, dear to Ramones fans: direct, simple lyrics on Rockaway Beach sound. One, Two, Three, Four…Approved!
