Review: Sugus – 1995
Sugus are back! The Spanish band, active since 1995, is back with a new album out under Monster Zero, and of which we already gave you a hint. Thanks to our friends at Monster Zero we have been able to listen to the album, called, of course, ‘1995’.
What can we say? Well, it starts really fast, as a Ramones punk rock style, which never disappoints, and the whole album is fucking fast, with 14 tracks in which they mix Spanish and English. An album well thought, which comprehends easy songs, perfect to cheer up, to drink and mosh, and other tracks more committed, perfect to sing along under the stage. Among my favourite songs of this album there are ‘Si Fuisteis Vosotros’, ‘Madrid’ and ‘Alambrada’, and of course the title track.
An album which has seen the Madrid band working for two years in a studio (the last album was released in 2012), but it strikes with its energy and, when you listen to it, you just want to go to a Sugus live set and sing along! Well, don’t miss this album, 14 songs which last maximum 3 minutes and which will make you sing and jump!
