azione-diretta-siamo tempesta

Review: Azione Diretta- Siamo Tempesta

And here we are, after 12 years, commenting with emotion “siamo tempesta”, Azione Diretta’s new album.

It was 2007 when Azione Diretta from Perugia published their successful split with Frangia Violenta. After the recent reunion, a new album was in the air, also because for those who saw them live the excitement and the passion are still those of the old days. The album will be officially released on March 23th for the mythical Anfibio Records, in CD format and even in vinyl. In the meanwhile, you can hear it here, under the review.
“Siamo Tempesta” is composed by 13 street punk tracks that lasts over 3 minutes per song, which is pretty unique. The common thread, as well as the concept by which Azione Diretta started for working on this album, is collective action, and they explain.
After a brief intro which screams “We are Azione Diretta, we are thunderstorm!”, it gets serious with a barrage of overdriven power chords and the right amount of direct, melodic. simple riffs . The drums and the bass hold everything up with great naturalness and become the additional value more often than not . Voice and choirs are perfect, powerful with a huge impact and tansport: impossible, indeed, not to sing these songs once they get into your mind! The lyrics are the words transpositions of who Azione Diretta are. They talk about rebellion, passion, love for the city, politics, stadium and friendship. The sentence on “Fuoco”: “You see us laughting but our heart is bleeding”, is very nice, it is the symbol of passion wich still burns inside the band from Perugia and in which, certainly, lot of kids identify.
Every single songs has its own why, there’s drive, there’s rage, there’s heart and the rythm is mad. In this album, there are, special guests also, in fact in “La Stessa Risata” we can find a featuring between Puccio and Pat Atho (Automatica Aggregazione), while in “Frana La Curva”, Erode’s cover with revisited lyrics and perfectly actualized (I really appreciate it), there is Max from Diario Di Bordo. There’s space even for the legendary Steno from Nabat, lending his voice in “Fiaccole nel tempo”, both together with Porco and Trave from Five Boots.
For first hour fan there is also “Sciarpe Rosse”, historic song containing the love for the city of Perugia, the t-shirt and the staircase. A splendid ballad with the gift of romantic and rebel lyrics(said by one who hates ballads) closes the album .
While I’m writing this review, I suppose to have listened “Siamo Tempesta” for a lot of time, infact this is an album to listendown the hatch, where each song is a travel and believe me, it comes natural to play it on repeat once it ends. I hope to soon have it phisycally in my hands, in the meantime I push play again. From the Grifo’s city.. welcome back and thank you Azione Diretta!

Rating album: 8,5/10
