Review: Wild Sheep – Paint Your Life

Second album from the Vicenza based band Wild Sheep

I won’t hesitate even a second to say that this album is great. Nine tracks drenched in anger, desire for redemption and, most importantly, a strong desire to take your life back and live it to the fullest.
The refusal of Wild Sheep to conform, their need for freedom instead of the sad acceptance of the current state of things. A description of a villainous society that waits for no man, and this band, through their melodic but still scratchy and high-end riffs, is trying to scream into our ears “Wake up!”.
On a musical level, we are faced with a fresh and original song writing style, while on a technical level we find four amazing musicians with a capital M, with a punk attitude crawling in their veins. Fine solos, non-trivial riffs and just the right amount of energy from the lead voice and the drums, that has to be mentioned because of its powerfulness and the very fine rhythmic patterns.
And if we really had to nitpick something out of this hardcore album with noise and experimental influences, we would only have one thing left to talk about: the excessive length of some songs, but it doesn’t really matter when the creativity and the grit are on this high of a level. A big round of applause for these guys!

Rating: 8/10
