BAD RELIGION LIVE IN PORDENONE, 30 June 2016

“Since 1979 and still great!” This comment could summarize the Bad Religion concert at “Fiera Della Musica”, Azzano Decimo (PN) on June 30th.
The band from Los Angeles played in Day 1 of the Fest, supported by Sick Tamburo, an alternative rock band from Pordenone and Supersuckers, a rock-country band from Seattle since 1988. Due to job commitments I arrived some 10 minutes before Bad Religion so I can’t report on the opening acts, but I would have preferred some local punk rock bands. However, this is just my opinion.

Bad Religion started with “Crisis Time” from their latest album “True North” (2013) and three tracks from “The Process Of Belief” (2002): “Supersonic”, “Prove It” and “Can’t Stop It”. Then the frontman Greg Graffin said thanks with a perfect Italian accent (unlike most American bands). They went on with “Stranger Than Fiction”, “I Want To Conquer The World”, “21st Century (Digital Boy)”, and another track from their latest album, “Fuck You”.

The 33-song tracklist included, for the joy of the audience, many old classics such as “Skyscraper”, “You are (The Government)”, “Suffer”, “Delirium of Desorder”, “Do What You Want”, “No Control” and even a track from their first album, “Fuck Armageddon…This is Hell”. My pleasure was at its best with “Sinister Rouge”, “Punk Rock Song”, “Infected” and “American Jesus”.
The rain didn’t affect the band’s and the audience’s enthusiasm.
In conclusion, an hour and a half of old school punk rock in which Bad Religion proved that their enthusiasm and their passion are still alive. And the feeling with the public confirmed that this band is still appreciated. Until next time!
