Discomostro – Mostroscopia – Review
An ordinary day in April my friend Ruggero from Professional Punkers mailed me, informing me of an exciting news about the upcoming release of DiscoMostro’s new album. In fact, after the recent publication of “Mostrofonia” in 2016 , I waited impatiently the Milanese band’s new studio recording; fortunately, the wait didn’t last long, given the fact that the band released the monsters saga’s second chapter on April 27th, entitled it, in fact, “Mostroscopia”.
The band, formed by Carlame on lead vocals (Skruigners’ drummer) together with Miki, Morla and Manuel, composed 10 tracks which do not differ so much from the first album’s formula, which is a merit. Actually, the band propose again a strong impact mixture with fast, pissed off and harsh punk hardcore and rock n roll influences. The Lyrics, surely personal and introspective, are sang with the right charge by Carlame and fit perfectly with the aggressive sound and rapid rythmics.
Also a big well done goes to Toxic Basement Studio, of which I honestly can’t remember of an album without extraordinary sounds. Even here, in “Mostroscopia”, the sound fits perfectly with the band’s ideas, making it a great album in every way.
The record is homogeneous and I find it personal and authentic and every song is a good shot, but “Ciao”, “Spargisale” and “Funerale” are the triptych that raises.
Nothing else to say, we’re facing a great album to be listen down the hatch. Trust me, you will like it at first listen , from the second one onwards, you’ll love it!.
