GBH – Perfume and Piss – Review

Here we are with an another review, this time it will be a bit shorter but not because the band or the álbum aren’t good. The record we will talk about is ‘PERFUME AND PISS’ from the historic band ‘GBH’!
This review is shorter because we are talking about a band who hasn’t done a mistake since 2010 and can always transmit the amazing Hardcore Punk atmosphere! HONOR TO THEM!
It starts with an powerful intro and song with a riff which looks like from a MOTORHEAD song.
The record goes on with an another powerful song even if not as powerful as the first and Perfume & Piss has got also a cool solo on it. The fourth song is definitely more slowly with a little guitar solo and Colin’s voice very good like always with a palm muted riff which goes along for the almost whole song. The next songs are very catchy, these two aren’t very hardcore but are ok. Then, Dead Man Walking looks like a song from City Baby Attacked By Rats (ok, maybe I exaggerated a bit), historic record from GBH, song not very powerful but got a stratospheric impact. The next two songs are very similar, not aggressive but point into the melody but when Polytoxic starts, everything changes. It’s not very fast or powerful but very aggressive. And Colin’s voice fits very well. Ballads returns to the old style from GBH. Power Corrupts is pure Hardcore Punk and GBH. Anger in the lyrics and nice vocals in the chorus. EXCELLENT! In the next song the intro is very catchy and everything changes when the verse starts because it becomes more porweful, in the style of the british band, which alternates with the melodicity in the chorus. The last song starts with an acoustic arpeggio and then here comes some pure anger and energy. In short, the record finishes how it started. With a violent song in the perfect GBH style. The record is amazing. It isn’t a masterpiece and not the best GBH’s álbum but I’m glad to know that an historic band keep on follow their ideas and genre until the end.
Congratulations and I want to give them an 8 for the great álbum and the band’s history which I recommend everyone to listen any song by them because they are all good!
