Interview with The Murderburgers

The Scottish punk rockers Murderburgers talked with me about the festival, other bands and some future plans!

I: It’s the first time for you here in Tolmin, what is the first impression?

MB: I was here last year just to watch the bands and it’s really really fun, the location is perfect, everyone is really nice, the bands are great.

I: What do you think about the ‘no barriers’ policy?

MB: Oh it’s great! I don’t like to be disconnected. It’s a small festival, even the main stage with the ‘no barriers’ rule makes me feel like in a small show. It’s awesome.

I: What do you think about the punk scene in the current years? What is punk actually now? What is the attitude?

MB: It’s seems to be growing. We have been a band for 11 years now… we were really bad at the beginning! But yeah, I think is growing, there’s a lot going on, a lot of festivals in Europe and the UK now. It’s a good time to be a punk band now.

I: What’s the best thing and the worst thing that happen to you during a show?

MB: Worst thing… Well, I flew through the drum kit once that was when I used to drink… that was pretty bad! I played the kazoo once instead of the guitar… we were playing and my guitar broke and instead spending time fixing it, someone threw a kazoo at me and I played it. I played it for the entire show, it was amazing!

I: Are there some bands that are you waiting to see these days? Maybe someone that you already know.

MB: We try to hang out with some of the bands. Like Bad Cop/Bad Cop, Almeida, The Bombpops… We are flying back on Friday morning, so we are not staying the whole time. We played Rebellion Festival before this so we need to go home, make a bit of money and then go back on tour. But we are here tomorrow, and tomorrow is a great line up so we will definitely enjoy!

I: What are the future plans for the band?

MB: We just released a new EP; we will finish recording also a new album, we will go on tour the next months and then, yeah, we will just keep doing it!
