January and February 2021 punk news | Meganews 4

Discover January and February 2021 punk and DIY world news

Here we are with the fifth issue! Yes we know, it’s strange that it is Meganews number 4, isn’t it? But the first meganews as every pilot episode had no title! Anyway. Here is our new Meganews, the article in which we summarize what’s new in punk world in the last two months, in this case January and February.

We write this kind of article looking around and writing down what’s new; via your private messages and e-mails; via the post we write one week before publishing our meganews where we ask you about new releases. So follow us and let us know about your band’s new release or news from your collective, distro, ‘zine, project, etc!

DISCLAIMER:
Punk is an attitude for us, if it was only music we would’t have opened, so not merely musically punk topics are welcome
 – this is why you can also add Antifa, against repression demonstrations, etc. – if they share the attitude. Militant hip hop, ska, blues, and songwriting are welcome provided that they share with punk spaces and values that are its basis.

IMPORTANT! Listening and discovering new stuff is cool, but if you can buy the physical copy to support bands and labels and if you have the opportunity to donate, every little help is actually a big help.

Swipe the article attentively because the order is random and you’ll find various players and more info for each name involved.

L’Esperimento del Dr K: “I Vivi e I Morti”, a limited edition tape with hand-numbered poster by the horror punk band from Genoa is out (and perhaps already SOLD OUT!). The reason why it was released on tape is the following, and we agree with every single word:

“Why a tape? Making a tape, as well as being a lot of fun, is our answer to the music industry and its capitalist system that wants numbers always growing, if millions of CDs are not sold it is no longer worth producing them and the factories must be closed, the players must be eliminated from cars and PCs, if you buy vinyls they must be expensive editions because for them it is NEVER worth earning less, you have to grow, make money, produce in excess until art is devalued. Punk rock has never sold millions of copies, except in rare and very well framed cases, our community is not interested in swallowing but to remain constant, to last over time, to be inclusive with everyone without having to walk the streets, our numbers are these, we are fine with them, who wants to be part of it is welcome“.
