Last Rotten Night: UPSET NOISE + WARFARE + A NEW SCAR + JOKE IT – 1/16/16 – Thanks Dezo!

At last, we reached the end of a long series of concerts. I’m talking about “A Rotten Night”, which on the night of February the 21st, 2016, displayed it’s last chapter. To learn more about these stunning events, check out the Facebook page “A Rotten Night – PN MOSH”: https://www.facebook.com/A-Rotten-Night-PN-MOSH-776242252421372/. I had the honor and the privilege to take part to many of these evenings and, sometimes, to help achieve their positive outcome. The great work that Dezo (A New Scar, Spavaldery, Oath) has done, cannot be summed in two lines of text. This is why I suggest to take a look at the Facebook page, so that you can understand what Pordenone and the underground scene will lose. I won’t explain the reasons, but all I can say is that Dezo and Pordenone Mosh won’t give up and suppress their passion. I would like to end this section thanking every single person who supported the “Rotten Night”! You were fantastic!

Talking about the music, the night was kicked off by Joke It, a crossover band from Chies D’Alpago/Belluno, which I finally enjoyed with sounds that are up to par. Deba, the singer, was able to greatly animate the stage, despite his stillness, caused by the technical difficulty of the songs. The tracks were powerful and the D.R.I. influence could definitely be heard. What else to say? The performance was energetic and overall great. The music was really good.

The second band to get on stage was “A New Scar”, a band with members coming from Pordenone, Udine and Ferrara. We have Diego from Impact, Bone from Eu’s Arse/Upset Noise and Dezo, mentioned above. They marked us with their piercing and angry music, which displays influences from Discharge and Oath. Dezo’s voice was “demonic” and the rhythms were “devastating”.

The last two bands to perform were Warfare and Upset Noise, which more than thirty years ago, in 1984, shared a split titled “Vi Odio”. The first band plays anarcho-hardcore punk with a noticeable theatrical vein on stage. They are anti-militarists and anti-authoritarians to the bone ever since they got together in 1981. The second band, Upset Noise, headliners of the evening, plays hardcore with metal/rock influences and involved lyrics. Both the performances were great, even though Upset Noise, in other circumstances, were even better.

There’s nothing else to say. We’ll soon talk about other concerts and, for now, we’re just happy to have participated to the last “Rotten Night”, which, as always, didn’t let us down.

Dezo for President!
