Less Than Jake – See The Light – Review
Less Than Jake is a band that always puts me in a good mood with its ska-punk, so when I found out about the releasing of “See The Light”, I stopped everything I was doing to listen to this album. Was it a good idea?! Don’t move and I’ll tell you everything about it…
“See The Light” was released on November 12, 2013 by Fat Wreck Chords (I really like this label).
This album contains 13 tracks and lasts about 37 minutes; it sounds like their first albums, in fact there are a lot of ska parts blended with punk parts. The album is enjoyable and the tracks aren’t repetitive; two of them (American Idle, Sunstroke) are great songs without ska parts.
The singing is awesome, the guitar is fantastic in the ska parts and it blasts perfectly into power chords for the chorus. The bass is very energetic, the drums are amazing and the winds fill the music. I appreciated the lyrics, especially I suggest you to read “Do the Math” and “Sunstroke”.
So, what else…I think this album is very cool and, answering to the first question, I think that listening to “See The Light” was a great idea!
It’s enjoyable, it goes at full speed and when it ends you’ll want to hear it over and over.
But now look at the ratings, stay tuned for our future reviews and obviously LISTEN TO “SEE THE LIGHT”!
