On The Road Again: Benefit campaign for destroyed Call The Cops tourbus!

We learn with great sadness that Call The Cops van was badly damaged during the tour of Banda Del Rione. This is the story taken directly from the page On The Road Again:
“On Saturday 8th December, during a benefit concert, the Call The Cops van, driven by Julia and with which BANDA DEL RIONE were travelling, was partially broken up and looted in the middle of a guerrilla warfare in the centre of Catania, in front of the venue where the show was taking place.

A large part of the people who gathered to attack the venue thought of destroying the van, as far as their limited mental faculties made it possible.

After smashing glass and part of the bodywork, they took away all the objects they found, and then spread throughout the street the contents of the bags that they considered useless for their purposes. They used the clothes to set fire to the molotov cocktails and try to set fire to a door, and they used a fire extinguisher and other objects that were among the tools of the van as weapons to break through the barricades erected to defend us.

This is the list of damages to the van:
– Windscreen broken through in several points
– All left side windows and right window shattered
– Back door glass shattered
– Both mirrors ripped off (to throw them at us)
– Dented bonnet, radiator grille broken into pieces
– Rear lights and right front light destroyed
– Left rear door broken in one point and right door handle torn up
– Dashboard and car radio compartment broken

This is what was stolen from us:
– Peavey 5150 valve header
– Backpack and suitcase with personal effects + a jacket
– Car radio
– Toolbox

Beyond the destruction and the almost smug determination to destroy the objects that belonged to us, that only those who instead of the brain houses a clod of manure eaten by worms can perpetrate, and that makes us very sad, the damage affects especially on many groups that use this means all year round to carry out their activities of tours and concerts with passion and sacrifice, and on the person who as a driver carries around the crew. Seeing what we have built over the years with so much effort destroyed in a few minutes makes the blood in our veins freeze.

We hope to be able to reconstruct, with the support of those who believe in what we do, the possibility of continuing to carry around our music and the fight against the aberrations of the world that lead to these disasters.

At the moment we can not yet quantify exactly the damage, we keep you updated, but we are in the order of several thousand euros.
