Pennywise – Never Gonna Die – Review
Finally, the long awaited Pennywise’s new album is out! The classic Californian hardcore band went back in studio to record its 12th album, ‘Never Gonna Die’, with Jim Lindberg again on vocals. The album came out under the Epitaph, whom published all the albums of the band, and it is made of 14 fast and powerful songs, in which the trademark of the band is perfectly recognizable.
Starting with the title track, which opens the album in an explosive mood, we go through ‘American Lies’ another fast song which can be an amazing song to play live. Another song perfect for the pogo and the sing along is ‘Live While You Can’, second single track of the album, with its fastened rhythm and the chorus that explodes in your head: ‘I got a time bomb ticking in my head’.
One of the most powerful songs of the release is ‘She Said’, third single of the album, which can become one of the anthems of the band. Well, with songs like these followed by ‘Can’t Be Ignored’, ‘A Little Hope’ and ‘Won’t Give Up The Fight’, the album shows us how the four punk rockers know how to do their job, and despite all those years on the road, they are still able to compose angry, fast and powerful songs which shares their sense of union.
The first album after Jim’s coming back highlights all the energy and power of the legendary band: we can’t wait to see them live again!
