Report Anarcholocaust vol. VI: in gring we crust!

That we are rather versatile and open as a webzine and as people you will understand, come on, after all, in recent years we have ranged from ska punk to oi!, from old-school hardcore to 1-2-3-4 Ramones style punk rock and so on and so forth. The only constant, beyond any doubt, has been to give as much space as possible to underground bands engaged in social and political battles against fascism, racism and sexism. And we are absolutely proud of that.
This time we proved quite open. In fact, today’s report tells you about that jumble of degradation (the beautiful one) and extreme music that was the sixth edition of Anarcholocaust.
We reach the Spazio Anarchico Libera Officina in Modena and have a short “tour” of the place. Not very big certainly, but well used and with anarchist murals and banners of fine workmanship, and then a freed space will always have our support.
We expose our distro, carried in backpacks around the second classes of regional trains. We position ourselves with our self-productions, books, vinyls, CDs, cassettes and anything else close to the Bologna Punx distro and here, we thank Lara of IntoTheBaobab who kept us company for the whole evening.
We rush to the stage area and see that Bleeding have already started. The band from Asti doesn’t play often – unfortunately – so we want to enjoy the whole live show. Theirs is a raw, without frills but definitely interesting old-school punk. We liked them very much, congratulations!
Then it’s the turn of  Motron, a group from Varese that includes members of bands like Kontatto, Campus Sterminii, Miseria, Green River Killer and Pioggia Nera. Very energetic on stage, they give us a respectable set, with lightning fast rhythms that give great lustre to their songs filled with crust, raw punk, d-beat and riffs of motorheadian inspiration. Another absolutely interesting group!
Subsequently, after several beers, it’s time for Haemophagus from Palermo, a band that in a thousand vicissitudes still manages to be on point. They present themselves by unleashing all their sound violence to the audience. In fact, theirs is a grindcore/death metal of great substance that reminds a lot of bands like Repulsion first and foremost and then Autopsy and the legendary Agathocles. In our modest opinion, they were a blast!
Back in the distro area we have a chat with super Mongy, from the crew of the fest, who tells us that Totalickers will not play tonight. Great shame, many were waiting for the Spanish band, well, maybe next time!
Aware of the fact that now a fest, to be such must have at least one group that forfeits, we rush under the stage because it is time for the band almost everyone was waiting for. Cyness. The German group, on the road for a very long time, makes the Libera tremble, thanks to a phenomenal energy and a devastating impact to say the least. Low tunings, blast-beat, tupa-tupa, riffs shot at supersonic speed and Loffi, the singer, who enjoys stage diving. In short, this is what they gave us. A wonderful band and we also thank Loffi with whom we had a long and interesting chat.
After the performance we realize that two groups are still due. We shrug our shoulders and head to the bar to drink pretending sobriety.
Then Grog start. The pirates hold up those few remnants of civilization. With the addition of the second guitar they have created a real wall of sound and their d-beat is made even darker and more violent by the voices that alternate heartrending screams with vocal styles more typical of grindcore. Great all five Grog, long life to the pirates!
At this point, it’s about 4 or 5 o’clock – and who remembers? – and the masters of porn-grind, 2 Minuta Dreka start! Under the stage there are still enthusiast people and in fact the band gives its best and demolishes, definitively, the still working eardrums. A very violent, very fast, very screamed grindcore. A blast! There is little to say in front of certain performances, go and see them if you happen, they are a unique experience!
Then we gather the last strength and after a round of greetings, we head home.

We hope with all our heart and liver that you enjoyed our raid into the world of the most extreme and death metal infected hardcore. We had a lot of fun and we want to thank Libera, Mongy and Anarcholocaust, the bands and all of you who came to greet us. We’re back with fewer neurons and some new entries in our distro (contact us at info@radiopunk.it for the full list). It was great, but don’t worry, we’ll be back soon to cross so far unknown roads! In grind we crust!
