Review: Bobson Dugnutt – Be The Change or Whatever
Here we are with the review of the new EP by Bobson Dugnutt!
Let’s review Bobson Dugnutt, a “cosmopolitan” band whose members come from both Bologna and the German capital.
“Be The Change (Or Whatever)” is a really pleasant recording mixing Hardcore, Punk with Rock and Roll shades and Sludge, with 6 really energetic tracks which make the butts move! The low-tuned guitars accompany the voice that alternates between “shriller” screamed parts with gruffer and cavernous ones, while the drum alternates fast pace, mid-tempo and slower times. Lyrics incite the listeners to fight and not give up, both against their own inner demons that blur the mind (“The clock”, “Jerry the fifth”) and against the modern consumer society which oppresses the non-aligned (“Be the change or whatever”, “Raptors democracy”).
As a fan of Italian trash comedy, I also find the outro of the last track worthy of notice, with a few seconds of a sketch by the great Lino Banfi; Hardcore is, after all, also high spirits!
