Review: Dots – Weekender Offender

Dots: funky punk from Northern Italy

We are talking about italian Funky music, with English lyrics in northern Italy music scene. The combination could be kind of weird, but like a slap in the face Dots‘ music made me change my mind. Their latest album called “Weekenders offender” is a pearl, shining through the fog: nine tracks of pure funky music mixed with punk influences. The recording is well done and it will make the audiences asses move! The ensemble works like a machine, supporting the rough voice of the singer, bringing back to the memory of the listener the attitude and vibes of famous bands like RHCP, Beastie Boys, and James Brown.

Of course where are talking about music that find its place far away from the commercial standards, the arrangements are made to surprise the listener, where bass and drums create an irresistible groove that will go straight into your head to mess up with your brain. At the same time guitars will kick in the song with a mixture of funky and punk riffs.

Of course this music is funky based, but also in the recording the nastyness of punk attitude will emerge adding attitude to every single song. With their new album “Dots” now will spread their message reaching, with an European and American tour, a larger audience, showing to the world how real Italian music sounds: rough, smart, tasty and of course fucking funky!
