frustrazione

Review: Frustrazione – Dolore, Piacere, Noia

First EP for Frustrazione, from Abruzzo

This EP by the band Frustrazione is definitely a great surprise! The band belongs to the new HC school but definitely plays the “old school” way. These guys are from L’Aquila, a city that – right in these days – is remembering the victims of the earthquake that devastated the city 10 years ago, but that seems to have made its citizens stronger: right after the quake, 2 new places have been squatted and people are trying to resume their daily life and routine, bringing solidarity, mutualism and culture back to their beloved city.
You can feel part of that “need for redeem” in the lyrics of this band too, fed by the boring, lethargic suburban life and the mobster politic that is mercilessly swallowing people’s resources in favor of its own, private interests.
Under the music side of things, the tracks just slip away easily: the songwriting, as well as the recording, sounds raw but the album is overall well played and quite catchy. This band is definitely well grounded: Let’s see what they come up with in the future…!
