Review: Knee-Jerk, Demo

Today we’re going to talk about Knee-Jerk, a young band from Buffalo, NY. The band, “supported” by Bankrupt Studios and formed by Eric, Tim and Tyler, presents this demo made of 3 songs marked by an in-your-face, fast and ticked-off hardcore/street punk: you can immediately individuate influences from bands such as Vitamin X, 7 Seconds and Minor Threat.

The Demo, lasting little more than 3 minutes – perfectly in line with typical hardcore old school productions – starts with “Distressed” a very tight song talking about life and every-day stress. It goes ahead with “Morality Failure”, another fast and violent song criticizing the US health system and the recent Republican’s proposal concerning this topic. The album ends with “Inept”, a slow song in the beginning that breaks out in the end, with angry lyrics taking a stand against current US president.

What else… Knee-Jerk are working on their debut album: if this Demo was intended to encourage people listing to it, they’ve definitely succeeded!
