Review: Occhi Pesti – BuoneNuovePerNessuno
From the town known to be the place where Totò did his military service (Cuneo, for those not really into cinema), come Occhi Pesti. They are a typical Italian hardcore band, both in terms of style and attitude, but with a really dark post-hardcore twist, which matches the introspective and tormented lyrics themes. Human anguish can be spotted in every song. In the track titled “Requiem” it overlaps with a today’s really important subject, the exploitation of prostitution, while in “Pessimismo e fastidio” the individual malaise matches the one coming from the slave/worker condition. In the end, they have a passable sound and good contents, but unfortunately the fact that the songs are so lengthy makes Occhi Pesti’s work not really enjoyable. I just believe that a shorter song running time and some more bpm would have been quite beneficial. However it’s a good album and I suggest you to listen to it!
