Review: The Dick Dastardly’s – ブラック魔王 – Burakku Demon King

New album by The Dick Dastardly’s from Marche

As soon as I had hit the play button, I heard the rough and harsh sound of this punk’n’roll band from the Marche region. The Dick Dastardly’s allow me to dive into their raw atmosphere, surrounded by a mix of anger and sweat, which is typical of 70’s and 80’s punk music.

This album that runs fast and sharp from the beginning to the end, has a strong personality not only in the way it is structured and perceived, but also in the way it was born. In fact, it was recorded at the Blue Studio of the Slack Record of Gradara (PU) that has an entirely analog studio! And we all know it: and analog studio transmits a great deal of charm and authenticity.

I honestly like all the tracks, but the one I maybe prefer is track 9: “Nuclear Korean Girl”.

ブラック魔王 – Burakku Demon King” has been released on the 21st of March under Slack Records and S.F.A. Records, two independent and very active labels, that seriously didn’t shy away from distributing this product, both on main streaming and downloading platforms, as well as on compact-disc and tape format.

Also remarkable is the cover artwork, very colorful but cold, creepy but charming, realized by Marco Bacoli, the drummer of the band.

“The Dick Dastardly’s” were a great discover!
