Review: Viboras – Eleven

After a break lasted for seven years, the Viboras , from Milan’s hinterland, came back to the scene with a new album: “Eleven”. Personally, I didn’t hear of them before but I have to say that it was an enjoyable discovery;
the album is well played and well produced, each refrain is simple and full of chorus and for that they’re impressive, Irene’s voice is particular and gutsy without appearing monotonous. I liked the drum always at the centre of the scene and I’ve found that the solo guitar is enormously omnipresent, even if sometimes it seemed a bit unnecessary.
I like how they decided to start the album with a track like “Pray”, wich is in fact one of my favourites, the voice’s communicative tone that flow not long after into an energy that accompanies us until the second to last album’s track. The other two tracks who pleasantly stood in my head are “I don’t care” and “Jaime”.
While I was litterally eating the album track after track, like cherries, I waited for the classic slow song to come out sooner or later, as a sort of good 2000 punk album’s rules! And there it is, I’ve found it!
“Raise”, the last track, is a great ballad that has 80’s shades, pleasant as the album’s conclusion.
The Album is cool and I’d like to see the Viboras playing live.
