Review: Wasa – Corteccia
New EP by Wasa from Milan
We don’t talk much about the emotional and refined universe of screamo/post hardcore. However, after the great album by Datura, we decided to review also “Corteccia”, the new EP by Wasa from Milan, because when a work is well done, it is right to talk about it.
There are 5 tracks, the titles composed by a single word: “Candida”, “Zero”, “Radici”, “Artù” and “Matteo”.
The band proposal is very particular, sounds full of effects but powerful at the same time, refined riffs, time changes, heartrending but at the same time understandable screams. Lyrics to be read like poetry, melancholic and noisy atmospheres are the structure of this EP. Wasa, in collaboration with Non ti seguo Records, Blessedhands Records, Longrail Records and Fireflies Fall have released lean, direct and original material in this “Corteccia”, which gives us hope for a full-length album.
Album rating 7/10
