Reviewe: Fronte Della Spirale – s/t
Debut album by Fronte Della Spirale from Campobasso, Italy
Fronte della Spirale come from a small region in Italy, Molise, and they gave us this self titled debut album, recorded at the famous Hell Smell Studio in Rome, and which has just been released in these days with the help of Mastice Produzioni. The band formed in 2016, but they were already known under the name of Disagiadattati and later as Polvere, and they produced a demo and made an appearance on the compilation-fanzine “EsseEmme”, with the track “La mia Città”, still using the name Polvere. Today we introduce you to their first album, which includes 11 tracks (the last two are a kind of outroes). This interesting record reminds me of the band Affluente from “Moltitudine Suina” and with typical Hardcore punk lyrics writing it faces, sometimes in a retrospective way, issues as the will of Freedom (in the song “Me Stesso”) and it criticizes modern societies, sometimes in a poetic way, sometimes slightly in a slogan style. It is a pretty original record, I think, because of its unique style and, though it’s basically old school hardcore, bass and drums rarely plays by the book, they rather plays with a smashing impact solutions. Then the guitar intertwines unusual but appropriated melodies and power chords in great simplicity. Vocals are definitely successful, so the lyrics are splendid as the choirs. I’m not going to choose any best song because the record is extremely homogeneous and needs to be heard and reheard entirely! Very good Fronte Della Spirale… They proved to be great, though they’re from a town which is hard to hardcore punk counterculture.
