Satanic Surfers – Back From Hell – Review
The long-awaited album by Satanic Surfers, “Back From Hell”, was released on April 13th 2018 on Mondo Macabre Records. After a short promotional tour in Italy making a strong impression in three towns such as Milan, Livorno and Cervia (RA), the Swedish band is back with this album characterised by a strong energy and desire to play together again, thirteen years after their last work “Taste The Poison”.
The album opens with a very strong roll of drums directly from hell, in the song “The Usurper”. Except for “All Gone To Shit” which starts slower, the whole record has a remarkable rhythm and a great sound from beginning to end. You should also remark the great energy in Rodrigo Alfaro’s voice, an impressive rhythm section and powerful, fast and technically majestic bass and guitar lines, as usual for the Swedish band.
There’s very little to say, “Back From Hell” is an orgy of 90’s melodic hardcore that sometimes reminds of the wildest Pennywise, to listen to before you jump with a skateboard from the Half-Pipe!
Album Rating: 7/10
