Scars Of Rage Fest #4 @Bagni Pazzi, Porto Sant’Elpidio (Italy) – June 9th, 2018

On the road again, Coast to Coast (to quote Raybeez!) from Maremma to Marche to land on the Adriatic shore of Porto S. Elpidio, where a lot of bands will play for a real party (but with attitude!) in a resort a stone’s throw from the beach, called Bagni Pazzi. A long journey with three train changes and connections only just caught. After a long walk I arrive on time to greet friends who came from various parts of Italy to enjoy the wonderful trio Hardcore/Beach/Outdoor beer.

Unfortunately I miss the home bands as well as the organizers of the Fest, namely Respect For Zero and Walk Into The Storm, which were certainly a blast with their mix of old and new school.
I arrive just on time to hear two or three tracks of Above The Trees from Caserta, directly from Cbc Crew, with an Emo-Post Hc very Touché Amoré style, a great live. But the first band I can enjoy in full is Gerda, with a beautiful and powerful post HC Converge style and with a considerable stage presence that attracts many people under stage, despite the still hot temperature.
As the day goes down, we enter the highlight of the Fest with Edward In Venice, from the north of Marche, with their winning mix of Pop Punk, melodic Hardcore and Emo-core.
Then it’s up to the foreign band of the evening, the magnificent Reality Slap, that with power and speed inflame the (not) stage and after the show I have the opportunity to have a chat and an ice cream (!) with. Good band, good guys!
Then it’s the turn of Face Your Enemy, that need no introduction! The only date of the year due to various members’ commitments, they come as enthusiast as we expected! A delirious audience, and I really mean it! Stage diving, various climbing on the gazebo of Bagni Pazzi, Sing Along on their songs in Napolinglish (half dialect half English) and when they pull up Dome (the frontman) me singing half the song with my usual obscene voice, but after all we are talking about HC, so fuck virtuosity! Last came Bull Brigade, not my favourite band but certainly very good, they make the audience sing real hymns for workers, ultras and outcasts.
Congratulations again to the Scars Of Rage Crew and see you next year!
