Streetpunk

Dorfterror – Schreikinder (Dackelton Records | LP / CD)

A great debut album for this young band from Rhineland-Palatinate. Melodic, energetic, and direct street punk, with German lyrics that are strongly political and socially conscious. “Three chords, but still beautiful,” as the title of one of the 13 tracks says, even if the alternating vocals and captivating choruses create an effect that enriches the sound and gives it character and originality. Keep an eye on this band, because we will definitely be hearing more about them.

Collaps – Promo Tape 2026 (No Fuss Tapes | Tape)

This four-track EP marks the return of the Oi! punk band from North Rhine-Westphalia. Four tracks in English, sung with a powerful voice over riffs and rhythms that blend Oi! and rock’n’roll. Just under ten minutes of clanging guitars and sing-alongs worthy of the skinhead and punk tradition!

Hardcore Punk

P.I.G. – Ugly (1753)

Five new tracks from this Los Angeles band: fast, loud, yet captivating. This mini-album gets off to a ‘softer’ start with the opening track, Fire My Mind, featuring deep, clear vocals alongside a prominent bassline. It then builds in intensity with the next four tracks, unleashing all the raw, edgy energy of punk/hardcore/crust punk; the tempo picks up, and the distorted melodies become more aggressive. A great discovery!

Trauma – Gocce Nel Mare di Caos (Total 13 Records, Wrong Disk Records, Lunaz Records | LP, CD)

With eight powerful tracks sung in Italian, this band from Pavia takes us on a musical journey back to the Italian hardcore scene of the 1990s, with a healthy dose of originality and contemporary sounds. The raw, versatile and charismatic vocals weave seamlessly through hardcore punk riffs and pounding, at times metal-style drumming, whilst the lyrics – ranging from introspective musings to a critical stance towards society – fit perfectly with the overall atmosphere and Elia Jungle’s artwork. If you like bands such as Sottopressione, Raw Power and Attrito, we highly recommend this splendid album!

Pura Manía – La Banda Es La Ley (Roachleg Records, Discos Peligrosos, Sorry State Records | LP)

A trio of labels from the US, Canada and Japan are releasing the Vancouver band’s second album. These eight punk tracks, featuring melodic riffs and varied rhythms, are rich in nuance and influences: from the new wave feel of certain passages to others reminiscent of The Adolescents, and still others evoking Peter and The Test Tube Babies’ “The Mating Sounds Of South American Frogs”. An energetic and effervescent punk album which, thanks also to the eclectic vocals in Spanish, is sure to delight all tastes!

Guimauve – Effondrement (Emergence Records, Les Disques Mauvais Garçons, Yoyodyne Records, Creepozoïd Productions, Guerilla Vinyl, MassProd, Keponteam | LP)

‘Guimauve’ means both ‘marshmallow’ and ‘Althaea’ (a plant from the same family as the mallow), but having got that rather peculiar – and, you might add, pointless – fact out of the way, let’s move on to the album. A thoroughly psychedelic cover introduces us to these 12 tracks of chaotic, heavy hardcore punk. The French vocals and lyrics, politicised in an anti-capitalist, anti-authoritarian, anti-Zionist and anti-fascist vein, paint a picture of a society in collapse (Effondrement literally means collapse) and blend perfectly with the album’s furious and at times dark atmospheres. Well done to this Parisian band, this album is fabulous!

Soviet Order Zero – Cicatrici

A new album from Soviet Order Zero, a Milan band active since 2015 that blends classic Italian hardcore punk with a myriad of other genres – to quote their Bandcamp description – “without setting any limits when composing their music”. We really loved Cicatrici right from the first few listens, with its introspective, thoughtful, sincere, fast and powerful hardcore punk. The album also features Ivan Di Marco of 217 on “Grazie di tutto” and a beautiful cover of Crash Box’s “Nato per essere veloce”. The cover art, designed by Pavel, is also stunning: an abstract painting in striking shades of red and magenta. Well worth a listen!

Mental Slaughter – Feedback // Warfare (Iron Lung Records, Televised Suicide | Tape)

This Australian side project, featuring members of Gaoled and No Future, delivers a delightful auditory assault with eight rock-solid, D-beat-infused tracks. A devastating cacophony of pounding bass and drums, razor-sharp riffs and vocals that are nothing short of overwhelming. UH!

Listerine – S/T (Tranzo Records, Nunchakupunk, VapaaPäivä Records | LP)

The French band welcomes us to this album with a cover that evokes the utter chaos and general mayhem that these 11 tracks bring with them! We’re faced with a furious album that oozes the vibe of 80s classics, yet is even more dizzying and dissonant in some respects. The songs, with their French lyrics, last just over a minute and are a massive punch in the face!

Spiritual Law – S/T (Discos Enfermos, Human Future Records, Broken Skull Records | LP)

Straight from the Austrian-German border region, Spiritual Law are back to blow our minds with this album, which encapsulates the band’s early years. A dozen tracks blending relentless rhythms with blind fury, this record combines elements of the heaviest hardcore with d-beat. Fabulous!

Screaming Fist – Santa Plaga (Convulse Records | 7″)

When looking up a bit of information about them, the first thing that catches the eye is the long list of other bands whose members are part of this group. Indeed, we’re talking about veterans of the Oakland scene, and the quality of their catchy yet direct and biting sound is remarkable. Jasmine Watson’s vocals in Spanish are energetic and fit perfectly with the overall atmosphere of the EP. Five tracks that are nothing short of brilliant!

Trollop – Manic Pixie Dream Violence

‘Cleveland Queer Punk Fiasco’ – with a hammer and sickle and a transgender flag in their Instagram bio – make their intentions crystal clear right from the start! These five tracks, currently available only as digital releases, offer a lively brand of hardcore punk that’s at times hypnotic and melodic, yet overall extremely dynamic and original. A real treat!

Punk Rock

Swallow’s Rose – The Beginning (Uncle M Music | LP)

An album entitled “The Beginning” whose first track is “The End” and last track is “The Beginning”? Yes, if it has to do with doubts, uncertainties, and the desire to accept oneself and start over even in the face of the most difficult trials that life presents us with. “Punk rock for those who lie awake at night” is how the German quintet describes its music, which consists of catchy melodies and energetic rhythms, with honest and direct English lyrics that address issues related to mental health and the search for inner balance. Eleven tracks that make you think and give you a boost of positivity. Highly recommended!

Grail Guard – Still No Future (TNS Records | LP)

“No future,” shouted the British punks in the 1970s. Today, 50 years on, this slogan rings truer than ever, and Coventry’s Grail Guard are reviving it with their album “Still No Future”. Society is still a right old mess, the right wing is in power across much of the Western world, racism is woven into the fabric of society, homophobia, transphobia and misogyny are killing people, capitalism funds wars and creates poverty, and here we are, standing still in the face of this horrifying spectacle. The British band tackles these issues with extreme candour and anger, from the perspective of those living in a historically colonial country still steeped in discrimination. Musically, Grail Guard play a varied and interesting brand of punk rock/hardcore, with some slight alternative influences. Don’t miss it!

PasMort – Lutter contre l’intelligence (Guerilla Asso)

We had already enjoyed their 2024 release “C’est arrivé près de chez vous,” and now they’re back with a new EP, again via Guerilla Asso. Lyrics in French, loaded with irony, describing surreal and dystopian scenarios, and rhythms that get faster and faster from the first track to the last: this is the formula of the Quebec quartet, always true to their melodic and refined punk rock. The only flaw with this record? It ends too soon, and all you can do is hit play again!

Band Ohne Anspruch – Eskapismus 4 Ever (Bockmist Räcordz | LP / CD)

The Hanover-based quartet has made understatement its trademark, starting with the name, which means “unpretentious band,” and for their fifth album they’ve chosen a title that celebrates a carefree escape from reality. Listening to their catchy and infectious punk rock puts you in a cheerful, lighthearted mood, but just a glance at the titles of the 14 tracks makes it clear that while they’re joking around, they haven’t lost sight of social and political issues, with ironic and proudly anti-fascist lyrics. It immediately makes you want to go wild in front of the stage!

Ska Punk

Mega Infinity – Harmonic Convergence (Say10 Records | LP / CD)

Medusa, she was cursed
Her hair turned into snakes
They won’t look in her eyes
Said she was the one to blame

In mythology, Medusa, after suffering violence and then a curse, is condemned to turn anyone who crosses her gaze to stone, but instead of being seen as a victim, she is considered a fearsome monster. Depicted in Art Nouveau style in Bri Martinsen’s stunning cover artwork, in this second album by the New York band, she becomes a symbol of all victims of violence who end up being blamed. Ska-punk and alt-rock, metal and hip-hop intertwine around Michi DiGiulio’s beautiful voice, which moves effortlessly from clear and melodious to gritty and screamed. A musically eclectic album that addresses important issues, well written and well played. Not to be missed!

Post Punk

Nightwatchers – Qu’importe la mort (Stonehenge Records | 7″)

‘Qu’importe la mort’ by Nightwatchers is a brilliant EP, characterised by that mix which, as you’ll have realised by now, we absolutely love: post-punk, hardcore and punk rock, sung in French. The result is incredible and works perfectly! The themes of this record are introduced in a press release (which we invite you to read on Bandcamp) and explore topics such as human misery caused by indifference in the face of suffering, death and extreme poverty, anti-capitalism, and wars waged by states that have no qualms about sacrificing the lives of thousands of people. Four tracks with a truly powerful impact!

“In this power struggle, war is an instrument of domination used strategically by the most powerful nation-states against their rivals or strategic targets: sometimes to annihilate an emerging threat, sometimes to acquire new resources or expand regional influence.”

Crust Punk

Castigo – La Tierra Vista Desde El Cielo

Four tracks of crust punk intertwined with elements of metal and hardcore. Rock’n’roll solos and dark atmospheres blend perfectly with the sombre, heart-wrenching vocals, creating a truly intriguing mix. A bone-crushing EP that’s been given the band’s full endorsement!
